The FoodWIse program advances healthy eating habits, active lifestyles, and healthy community environments for families with limited incomes through nutrition education at the individual, community, and systems levels. FoodWIse is federally funded by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) grants.
The Nutrition Coordinator is an integral member of the Crawford, Richland, Vernon FoodWIse team. Nutrition Coordinators are responsible for staff training and supervision, program planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting, and developing and managing the local program budget. The Nutrition Coordinator works closely with nutrition educators and partner agencies to plan and implement interventions that improve healthy food access and make healthy food and physical activity choices practical and available to community members with limited income.
The FoodWIse Nutrition Coordinator:
– Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community.
– Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
– May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
