Soil Sample Testing
Just what exactly is in there?!
What makes up your dirt? And how come the dirt in your garden is looking different or feels different than dirt from your yard or field? Dirt is dirt…right? Let’s test it to find out the answers!
One of the first steps to having a successful lawn, garden, or field is having your soil tested. Testing your soil is a good opportunity to find out exactly what your soil needs to be the best it can be. Whether your soil is in the garden, the lawns, the fields, forests, or wildlife plots, we can get it tested for you! The Routine Soil Tests are listed below as well as their forms and instructions. There are additional tests available.
Call ahead to the Extension Office and then stop in to check out a soil probe. We will give you soil sample bags to fill with your chosen sample(s). Bring your samples into the office, we will box, wrap, and label your sample for you. You are responsible for mailing it out.
Our Office Hours are: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Our Office Phone is: 608-647-6148
