Begin the night with first-generation farmers, Joe & Nikki Tyson, as they show you their sheep, goat, and cattle “AMP (adaptive multi paddock) Grazing” system. They will discuss their conversion of cropland to pasture, incorporation of both warm and cool season species, demonstrate their portable fencing equipment and the use of livestock guardian dogs on their farm.
Grassbelly Farmstead – E14131 Co Rd D, LaFarge, WI
For the second half of the night, we will travel a few miles north to learn from Meghan Filbert & Omar de Kok-Mercado, who are utilizing Nofence, a virtual fencing system, with goats and rams to control invasives in areas that previously did not have livestock due to the inability to fence. They will give an overview of how this new technology works and explain connectivity in the hills of the driftless.
